Blackmer has again participated in a campaign to raise breast cancer awareness by donating a TLGLF3 sliding vane pump and 1¼-inch bypass valve for use on a pink LPG bobtail delivery truck. The truck is owned and operated by Tri-Gas & Oil Co. Inc., a 44-year-old propane and petroleum distributorship based in Federalsburg MD. Tri-Gas & Oil's chairman Keith McMahan, who is also the current chairman of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), initiated this latest pink bobtail project.

Tri-Gas & Oil has committed to donating one cent from every gallon of propane fuel sold via the new bobtail for one year to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. This foundation was launched in 1982 and is now the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activities fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find cures. With the creation of its new pink bobtail, it is Tri-Gas & Oil's intention to help area women obtain assistance in early detection and education in the fight against breast cancer.

The new truck was built by Blackmer OEM customer PETCO (Petroleum Tank Corp.) of Kenly NC. The finished bobtail was delivered February 12, 2008. In addition to Tri-Gas & Oil's yearlong contributions, PETCO will make a one-time donation to the foundation. During construction of this bobtail, PETCO received various contributions from component manufacturers for the truck, and those amounts will be compiled into one check that the company will pass onto the foundation.
