Production of major plastic resins totaled 7.0 billion pounds during April 2007, an increase of 4.8 percent compared to the same month in 2006, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC).

Year-to-date production was 27.4 billion pounds, a 1.9 percent increase compared to the same period in 2006. Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 7.1 billion pounds during April 2007, an increase of 3.8 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 27.6 billion pounds, a 4.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2006.
