Andrews Logistics acquires Andrews Transport

Dec. 23, 2013

Andrews Logistics, a Southlake TX asset-based transportation and logistics company specializing in bulk liquid and hazardous materials transport, announced on December 18 that it had acquired Andrews Transport LP, a bulk liquid petroleum and chemical products transportation provider based in Fort Worth TX. As a result of the acquisition, Andrews Logistics will add approximately 115 employees in Texas and Louisiana, as well as a roster of premier petrochemical customers.

Andrews Transport was formed in 1980 and is owned by Bill and Gary Andrews. Andrews Logistics was established in 1997 and is owned by J Darron Eschle and Brian Jarvis. The companies serve the same industries and markets and share a similar focus on safety and service.

“This acquisition increases our ability to service a great customer base we both already have in place,” said Eschle, chairman and chief executive officer of Andrews Logistics. “We’re now more diversified and better able to create a stronger and more comprehensive corporate and operational structure. As a result, we’ll be one of the strongest players in the bulk liquid and dedicated contract service industry.”

Andrews Transport was recognized nationally by the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) for having an outstanding safety record and has received numerous awards and certificates of recognition from the states where it operates. Similarly, Andrews Logistics has consistently been praised as one of the safest tank-truck carriers in the country by the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC), and is the youngest company to ever win the Outstanding Performance Trophy for safety from the NTTC.

“The Andrews family’s core values of business ethics, integrity, work ethic, safety and service are what we founded Andrews Logistics on as well, which makes our joint operation a perfect fit from a philosophical and efficiency viewpoint,” said Jarvis, president and chief operating officer of Andrews Logistics.

All corporate office functions will be consolidated into Andrews Logistics’ Southlake headquarters. The acquisition expands Andrews Logistics’ terminals in Texas with the addition of facilities in Diboll, Tyler, and Beaumont. Some Andrews Transport terminals will be combined with nearby Andrews Logistics facilities. This includes Andrews Transport’s Houston TX terminal and Andrews Logistics’ terminal in Deer Park. The Andrews Transport terminal in Fort Worth will be combined with Andrews Logistics’ Dallas location. The terminals each company operates in Baton Rouge LA also will be combined.
