Aegean Marine increasing fleet capacity

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc, Piraeus, Greece, has purchased the M/T Nautilus, a 1991-built and 2002-upgraded 7,030 deadweight tonnage (dwt) double-hull bunkering tanker, from Sirius Shipping AB.

Aegean has renamed the ship Aegean Princess.

Aegean also said that anticipated carrying capacity for each of 10 new double-hull bunkering tankers from Fujian Southeast Shipyard, China, has been increased 21 percent per vessel to 4,600 dwt from 3,800 dwt. The vessels are scheduled to be delivered between 2007 and 2008.

The company also has an option to build five new double-hull bunkering tankers with the same shipyard.
