The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is confirming the effective date of its direct final rule that revises a number of standards, including those for walking-working surfaces, according to information published in the Federal Register March 14. The final rule (29 CFR part 1910, subpart D) also was effective March 14.

Among the regulations in subpart D are those for ladders and stairways. The original rule can be reviewed online in the December 14, 2007, Federal Register.
