Hagen Transfer upgrades two foodgrade bays

Sep 4, 2008 11:31 AM

Hagen Transfer Inc has upgraded two bays at its Elkhorn WI foodgrade tank cleaning facility with a new Gamajet 88 system and LKH 25 100 psi pumps.

A Johnson 200-horsepower boiler was already in place, but the company added the pumps as an upgrade to handle the additional wash system and provide steam cleaning capability. The Gamajet system is mobile with the use of a gantry trolley and can be moved to adjoining bays if needed.

With five cleaning bays now in place on the three-acre site, the company added an additional bay to house its new wastewater system with a storage tank for oil skimming and another tank for product pH adjustment. Heel is removed to a tank trailer used for storage and then hauled away to a receiving facility.

As a result of the upgrading, the tank wash can now manage difficult-to-clean-products such as chocolate and hydrogenated oils. In addition, the facility continues to offer kosher-certified tank cleaning as well as routine foodgrade service.
