Rail rolling stock maintenance giant Rescar Companies (Rescar) has signed a deal with The Woodlands TX-based The CRU Group under which subsidiary CRU Railcar Services will provide tankcar cleaning and switching services for Rescar's new Fast Track location within the Alamo Junction Rail Park in Elmendorf TX 20 miles south of San Antonio TX.
Rescar is the largest provider of railcar maintenance services in North America with 35 on-site mini shops and 30 mobile locations. Currently, Rescar has five major full service plants (Channelview TX, DuBois PA, Gordon GA, Longview TX, and Orange TX) for heavy repair, tankcar compliance testing, wide product based cleaning and coating application.
The CRU Railcar Services joint effort is adding a new Fast Track location to the existing four Fast Track locations (Rosemount MN, Savanna IL, Springfield MA, and Wilmington NC) which are designated for light repair/project work and on-line bad order Damaged and Defective Car Tracking (DDCT).
The CRU Group, consisting of numerous companies that service the oil industry, is known for its boutique-like approach to project-building and their extreme vetting of partners and customers. CRU Victoria Investments developed the first third-party frac sand silo facility in Texas in 2011, which currently services Schlumberger.
CRU Trading Company operates a fleet of 500 tankcars and has been providing turnkey trans-border transportation solutions for clients such as PMI, NuStar, and Rio Energy since 2008. CRU Refined Mexico is the largest asphalt importer in northern Mexico.
The group's latest project was the creation of CRU Railcar Services, a state-of-the-art tank car cleaning facility offering extremely fast turn-times and conforming with the toughest inspection standards.
