PHMSA will try again on wetlines

Nov 8, 2005 5:47 PM

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is trying yet again to develop a regulation prohibiting wetlines on cargo tank trailers, according to Ben Supko with PHMSA.

He provided a brief update on the wetlines effort November 8 during National Tank Truck Carriers’ 2005 Cargo Tank Maintenance Seminar in Louisville KY.

Supko said the agency plans to publish a final rule in about a year.

Between now and then, a recently-hired contractor will review all of the wetlines comments that were submitted earlier this year. The comments will be addressed in the final rule, according to Supko.
