RSPA extends HM-213 comment period

In response to industry requests, the Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) has extended the comment period for HM-213 to April 4, 2002. Initially, comments were due February 4.

The HM-213 proposed rule changes some of the definitions in the Hazardous Materials Regulations. It also requires changes in the markings on emergency shutoff valves. Rules governing cargo tank construction and maintenance will be affected.

Comments should be submitted to the Documents Management System, US Department of Transportation, Room PL 401, 400 Seventh St SW, Washington DC 20590-0001. The docket number RSPA-98-3554 and HM-213 should be on the comments, which are to be submitted in two copies.
