PeopleNet complies with new HOS rules

Jan 1, 2006 12:00 PM

PeopleNet has announced that its on-board communications platform has been updated to comply with the new hours of service (HOS) rules published by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Customers operating PeopleNet systems are being notified of the updates, and deployment is underway through the company's Over-the-Air-Programming (OTAP) feature.

The revised HOS rules took effect Oct 1, 2005. For the past two years, the agency has been under a court order to revise and update the rules, which regulate how long truck drivers can operate a commercial motor vehicle.
