FMCSA wants new CDL physician list

May 26, 2005 5:44 PM

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is proposing a new program that will certify medical examiners who will be listed on the proposed National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME).

If the proposed NRCME program is established, FMCSA will require all interstate drivers with commercial driver licenses (CDLs) to obtain their medical certificates from a medical examiner on the list. FMCSA will hold several public meetings and conferences regarding the proposal.

The first meeting is scheduled June 22, 2005, Crystal City Marriott, 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington VA.

All attendees will have an opportunity to discuss this initiative with FMCSA personnel.
