NEFI counting days to SPCC deadline

Jul 23, 2008 11:33 AM

The New England Fuel Institute (NEFI) is counting the days (literally) until the Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) regulations go into effect July 1, 2009, for companies that own or operate a motor fuel or heating oil bulk plant.

NEFI has posted a countdown clock on its Web site at nefi.com.

The association points out that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule applies to all owners and operators of petroleum bulk plants that store 1,320 gallons or more in above ground storage.
