EPA issues hazmat emissions standards rule

A final rule has been issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for national emissions standards for hazmat air emissions at gasoline distribution bulk terminals, bulk plants, pipeline facilities, and gasoline dispensing facilities, according to information published in the Federal Register January 10.
This action refers to national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants for the facilities in the gasoline distribution (Stage I) area source category. EPA is publishing the emission standards for hazardous air pollutants pursuant to Clean Air Act section 112(c)(3) and 112(d)(5).
The agency is adding two regulations that address the facilities contained in this area source category. The first includes requirements for bulk distribution facilities, for example, gasoline distribution bulk terminals, bulk plants, and pipeline facilities. The second includes requirements for loading of storage tanks at gasoline dispensing facilities. EPA also is incorporating by reference four test methods. The action also finalizes the agency's decision not to regulate the above noted facilities under Clean Air Act section 112(c)(6).
