DOT form strategic plan for 2006-2011

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has released its strategic plan for 2006-2011 that includes goals for improving security, preparedness, and response for the transportation sector, according to DOT information.

The plan also addresses ways to enhance public health and safety by working toward the elimination of transportation-related deaths and injuries and means to reduce congestion and other impediments to using the nation’s transportation system.

DOT will be facilitating an international transportation system that promotes economic growth and development and promoting transportation solutions that enhance communities and protect the natural and built environment.
