Tom Kamp uses a five-ton hoist in the number one bay to <br />lift the bolt-on front head into place on a piston tank trailer. <br />Piston Tank Corporation is now assembling its patented <br />viscous-product trailers at a new 10,000-sq-ft facility in <bMembers of the Piston Tank Corp team include [front row from left] Mike Murphy, Korey Duncan, and Lance Dillinger. Laser or radar tracking are used to ensure operators know exactly where the piston is at all times during loading and unloading.A digital readout on this control box is part of the laser tracking <br />system that is used to monitor piston location in the trailer.
Viscous cargoes are bottom loaded into piston tank trailers, <br />and outlets up to eight inches in diameter can be specified.While shippers and consignees supply a transfer pump for viscous products at their facilities, a few piston tank trailers are outfitted with pumps.
