Calculated growth and a major bulk plant upgrade have made Pirkl Gas Inc a very competitive propane distributor in the Owatonna MN market. The company operates six bobtails out of two bulk plants (in Meriden, as well as Owatonna). The business is split reMembers of the Pirkl Gas team include Greg Pirkl [far right], Ann Pirkl, Damon Louks, and Abby the office dog. Among those not pictured are Patti Abraham-Brekke, Nick Ballstadt, Chad Willette, Eric Pirkl, and Danielle Pirkl.Pirkl Gas significantly upgraded its Owatonna bulk plant over the past year. Improvements included the addition of two 30,000-gallon propane storage tanks, and all of the tanks and pumps were raised five feet for added protection in the event of flooding.

Cargo tanks are being modified with dual spray fills for faster loading.
Pirkl Gas ordered STAC Manufacturing’s compact <br />Thermaflow model 500P hydraulic cooler system to run the <br />product pump on its newest bobtail.All of the bobtails in the Pirkl Gas fleet have Base Engineering’s <br />remote shutdown system.Pirkl Gas is specifying LC’s LectroCount LCR-II meter on new bobtails.
Bobtails are specified with RegO hose nozzles, Thermoid <br />hoses, and Hannay hose reels.Merritt aluminum fittings cabinets were chosen for the newest bobtails in the fleet.
