For more than 20 years, tractor-trailer rigs in the McMahon Transport Group fleet have been a regular sight at service stations throughout the greater Chicago area and northwestern Indiana. The carrier is testing Eaton’s UltraShift Plus automated transmission in the tractor.Four-compartment tank trailers with double bulkheads hold 9,500 gallons. The carrier runs straight-barrel and double-taper units.Tank trailer hardware includes Dixon-Bayco bottom-loading adapters, Betts internal valves, and Civacon and Scully overfill protection.
McMahon Transport Group’s maintenance department assembles spill cleanup kits that are stored in trailer-mounted containers.Rugged Zebra printers are used to produce customer receipts, which helps prevent billing errors.Four of the tractors in the have Blackmer product pumps for customer pumps-outs and other services.McMahon Transport Group specifies the Cat’s Eye tire inflation monitoring system on tractors and trailers.
