Here, Randon Robinson, a wash rack worker, lowers a Sellers spinner into a MillMichael Van Duyn, Mac-Del vice-president, and his daughter Kelley McElhany, who oversees administrative functions, represent two of the three generations involved in the family business.These 575-gallon stainless steel vats contain clear coat cleaning solution, caustic, and hot and cold water for two specialized bays dedicated to BASF Corp.
Randon Robinson moves an IBC to a rack dedicated to tote cleaning. The cleaning equipment includes a converted stainless steel 7,000-gallon tank trailer with three compartments for hot and cold water and presolve mixture.Chris Burdick adjusts water flow on an intake valve of this Hurst 100-hp boiler used as a back up to a 200-hp Eclipse boiler.All of the bays utilize high volume, low pressure systems driven by 30-horsepower Grundfos pumps.
A warehouse adjacent to the shop has plenty of space for IBC storage.A BASF tank trailer undergoes a specialized procedure in one of two bays dedicated to BASF operations, one bay for specific products and the other for initial cleaning. Each of the dedicated bays has individual 575-gallon stainless steel vats and piping.
