Service Transport has standardized on PeopleNet for on-board computers, and the fleet is being upgraded to PeopleNet’s new BLU display screen.

Service Transport Company, Houston TX, is running hard to keep up with shipper demand. The carrier’s 315 tractors and 423 tank trailers haul chemicals from plants along the Gulf coast to customers throughout North America. As the carrier replaces older eqMembers of the Service Transport management team include [from left] Gary Doggett, Dennis Herrington, Jim Brown, Claude Lewis, Kevin “Skip” Parker, and Wayne Brewer.Service Transport’s Houston TX headquarters terminal includes extensive tank cleaning and vehicle maintenance operations. The other four terminals in the system have smaller maintenance shops, and one other terminal does tank cleaning.
A regenerative thermal oxidizer at the Houston TX terminal ensures complete combustion of chemical vapors collected in the tank cleaning operation.Service Transport has standardized on PeopleNet for on-board computers, and the fleet is being upgraded to PeopleNet’s new BLU display screen.Decals on the tractors make it clear that Service Transport runs electronic driver logs.
Peterbilt Model 386 tractors were ordered with 15-liter Cummins ISX engines rated at 450 hp and Eaton UltraShift Plus automated transmissions.Mack and Peterbilt both provide tractors with clean frame rails that offer plenty of space for product pumps, compressors, and other hardware.Service Transport has standardized on PTO-driven Roper product pumps and Quincy compressors.
