Schneider National Bulk Carriers (SNBC) officials say they believe their new 40-ft, 7,133-gallon domestic tank container could have a transformational impact on longhaul chemical shipments in the North American market. A wash rack worker inspects the interior of a new domestic tank container during its first cleaning at the SNBC wash rack in Houston TX.Developers of SNBC’s new domestic intermodal tank container designed the container and chassis together to minimize tare weight and mirror performance with DOT407 tank trailers.Fort Vale outlet valves are positioned for rear unloading. Fort Valve also supplied domelids and pressure/vacuum-relief vents on the tank containers.
A special side-mounted ladder was designed for the SNBC domestic tank containers.Reinke Manufacturing Co Inc is building the lightweight, low-profile chassis for SNBC domestic tank container drayage operations.Michelin X One single tires contribute to a low chassis tare weight of 5,890 pounds.
