Students in a Canadian school program who are learning to speak English as a second language are looking for co-op experience in trucking companies, according to information from the Ontario, Canada, Trucking Association (OTA).

The English as a second language program is designed to prepare the students for trucking careers. Some of the students are planning to work as drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and safety officers. They have experience speaking English (intermediate level) and want to add working knowledge of trucking language. Placements would ideally expose participants to many aspects of the trucking industry, including: yard and loading; safety and compliance; routing and dispatch; shop/garage and driving, according to OTA.
