Transflo to team with UP on bulk transloading facilities

Transflo Terminal Services Inc, Jacksonville FL, plans to open a network of bulk chemical transloading terminals with Union Pacific Railroad(UP), Omaha NE, to extend service to non-rail served customers.

Four UP terminals will be operated by Transflo: Portland OR, Santa Fe Springs CA, Henderson NV, and Rifle CO. Plans are to expand the transload service throughout the Union Pacific rail network.

In 2002, Transflo, which currently operates an 81-terminal chemicals and bulk products network in the eastern United States, handled more than 30,000 chemical loads, along with other bulk products, according to company information. Transflo is a business unit of CSX Corp, Richmond VA.
