Mar 7, 2002 12:00 PM

A new MCS-150 form now has to be filed by motor carriers every 24 months, according to a new rule finalized by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and published in the Federal Register March 1, 2002. The rule becomes effective April 1, 2002.

A motor carrier that submits similar information to a state as part of its annual vehicle registration requirement under the Performance and Registration Information Systems Management (PRISM) complies if it files this information with the appropriate state commercial motor vehicle (CMV) registration office, according to the Federal Register information.
