Hunt Resigns From ArvinMeritor

Bill Hunt, ArvinMeritor vice-chairman and president, has resigned, according to information from the Troy, Michigan company. Larry Yost, chairman and chief executive officer, will assume Hunt’s operating responsibilities.

After 25 years of service with Arvin Industries and ArvinMeritor, Hunt plans to form a venture capital company to be based in Indianapolis, Indiana. His new company will concentrate on investment opportunities in automotive and non-automotive areas, according to the information.

“We are indebted to Bill’s dedication and commitment to the success of the ArvinMeritor merger, and now that the transition is complete we wish him well as he pursues other endeavors,” said Yost. “We thank Bill for his contributions and strong leadership to achieving the company’s integration goals and launching ArvinMeritor as a new company.”

Hunt has served in his current position since the July 7, 2000, merger of Arvin Industries Inc and Meritor Automotive Inc. Prior to the merger, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of Arvin Industries. He joined Arvin as counsel in 1976, was appointed vice-president of administration in 1980, secretary in 1982, executive vice-president in 1990, president in 1996, and chief executive officer in 1998. He was named chairman in 1999.
