Hill named FMCSA safety officer, assistant administrator

John H Hill has been appointed chief safety officer and assistant administrator, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). He will be responsible for providing executive leadership over administration and operations of FMCSA programs, and will participate with the administrator and the deputy administrator in establishing program policies, objectives, and priorities, and in developing strategic plans for accomplishing the agency’s motor carrier safety programs and activities. Hill will assume the position June 1. A graduate of Taylor University, he comes to FMCSA from the Indiana State Police where he was commercial vehicle enforcement division commander.
