NTTC asking for rule
on stability equipment

May 27, 2008 4:17 PM

National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) is asking the Department of Transportation (DOT) to consider making a rule requiring electronic vehicle stability equipment on new tank trailers.

NTTC has been working with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and others in the trucking industry to seek ways to prevent vehicle rollovers, a growing concern of the group.

NTTC would like to see some action taken on its proposal by the end of 2008. The recommendation was made at the NTTC Board of Directors meeting May 18-20 in New York NY.
