SBT purchases deepwater terminal

Jan 20, 2005 9:27 AM

Savannah Bulk Terminals LLC (SBT), Savannah GA, has purchased a 24-acre deepwater terminal on the Savannah River.

The facility, formerly Forest Commodities Corp, currently operates as a dry bulk export terminal, a liquid bulk import terminal, and deepwater berth.

Improvements to the site for 2005 will include a new 25,000-square-foot bulk storage building and a new dry bulk import receiving system.

The terminal expands the offerings of Savannah Bulk Terminals, which is 50 percent owned by SeaGate Handling Inc of Savannah, by opening it up to the major dry bulk importers.
