API, others issue recommendations for storage tank recovery

Sep 8, 2005 9:44 AM

The American Petroleum Institute, in conjunction with the Steel Tank Institute, the Petroleum Equipment Institute and the Fiberglass Petroleum Tank and Pipe Institute, has reissued recommendations on steps for resuming fueling service after flooding from Katrina.

Applicable to situations faced by storage tank owners in the Gulf Coast region, the API document was initially developed after hurricanes caused massive flooding in North Carolina and South Carolina in 1999.
