Diesel price continues downward

The average on-road price of diesel fell just over four cents per gallon last week to $2.537, according to Department of Energy information.
The week before DOE reported the average price across the nation at $2.58 per gallon. The price averages include taxes.
Looking back to 2006, the lowest price was reported January 16 at $2.449 per gallon. The price topped out August 14, 2006, when pumps registered an average of $3.065.
