Diesel price climbing

Aug 21, 2007 12:47 PM

The average price of on-road diesel across the nation rose just over two cents last week, ringing up at the pump at $2.868 per gallon, according to information from the Department of Energy (DOE).

Low sulfur diesel jumped almost four cents more then the previous week, costing $2.826 per gallon. Ultra low sulfur diesel was $2.878 per gallon, a 1.7 cent increase from the week before.

The DOE information points out that low sulfur diesel prices are being provided for a short period of time because of the small and diminishing number of outlets selling the product. That price may be discontinued without advanced notice when the number of outlets at the US level is too small to estimate an accurate price.
