Diesel price rises 2 cents

The average price of all on-road diesel rose two cents last week to $2.849 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy.

Last week's price was almost seven cents lower than it was at the same time last year when customers were paying $2.918 per gallon. That compares to the highest price recorded last year in August of $3.065 per gallon.

Low sulfur diesel last week cost $2.809 per gallon, which was a three-cent increase from the week before. Ultra low sulfur diesel followed suit with a 1.7 cents increase, topping out at $2.859 per gallon.
