Circle K acquires 236 Shell, Motiva sites

Circle K Stores Inc will be adding an additional 236 sites to its convenience store chain after acquiring them from Shell Oil Products US and Shell's affiliate Motive Enterprises LLC.

Circle K's parent, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc, announced the plans to close the purchase by the end of 2006, subject to standard regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

The sites operate under the Shell banner and are in Denver CO (71), Tampa FL (53), southwest Florida (46), Orlando FL (28), Baton Rouge LA (22), and greater Memphis TN (16). The firm plans to invest about $45 million in the sites over the next five years.
