Group seeks information on propane bobtail inspections

The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), and The Adept Group are conducting surveys to determine if increasing the time period between required bobtail propane delivery vehicle hydrostatic tests could be technically justified, according to PERC information.
Propane bobtails currently are required by Department of Transportation regulations to be hydrostatically tested at least once every five years. The group conducting the survey is seeking information about what kinds of bobtails are being used by the industry. The database will then be used to support the industry’s position during NPGA negotiations with DOT regulatory officials to reduce the frequency of the required hydrostatic tests.
