ATA, Healthy Trucker expand Healthy Fleet Challenge in 2015

Jan. 23, 2015

The American Trucking Associations (ATA) announced it was expanding its relationship with Healthy Trucker and expanding the Healthy Fleet Challenge to all its member companies.

“We saw in October at our annual MC&E (Management Conference & Exhibition) how successful just a small-scale challenge was, so we wanted to expand it to all our members,” said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. “The health and wellness of our members and their employees and drivers is very important, so this friendly competition will help people fulfill those New Year’s resolutions and get in shape in 2015.”

Starting now, ATA’s member companies can not only compete with each other, but on behalf of the United States against fleets in Canada, making the challenge a truly international effort to energize the industry to get and stay healthy.

“I participated in the Healthy Fleet Challenge at MC&E and it was great fun,” said ATA Chairman Duane Long, chairman of Longistics. “So I encourage all my fellow ATA executives to join in the Challenge now.”

Glenn Caldwell, vice-president of corporate development at Healthy Trucker, added: “Let's face it, the vast majority of us could stand to be more active. The Healthy Fleet Challenge is a fun and engaging way to get everyone moving—together. Small changes to lifestyle--like this challenge--have a positive compounding effect over the long term.”
