Vopak to expand Dubai terminal

Apr 11, 2006 7:50 AM

Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd plans to expand the capacity of its terminal in Dubai by 360,000 cubic meters (2.3 million barrels) and add two new vessel berths.

Following this expansion the oil terminal will have a total capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters (9.4 million barrels), six berths, and a single-point mooring system.

This expansion in the berths and tankage will enable Vopak Horizon Fujairah to further improve its hub-function in the Middle East for black and clean mineral-oil products, according to the company.

The expansion is planned to become operational in the third quarter of 2007.
