Schneider National Inc, Green Bay WI, plans to hire 150 drivers and owner-operators throughout Pittsburgh PA and nearby areas of eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia. The majority of new drivers will support Schneider National's Bulk division which provides customers with liquid bulk transportation of primarily non-hazardous specialty chemicals.

Inexperienced drivers are encouraged to apply for the new positions and will earn an average of $34,500-$42,500 in their first year. A $2,000 sign-on bonus also is being offered to inexperienced drivers who join before August 13. Schneider offers a comprehensive company-paid training program.

Experienced drivers will earn an average of $49,500-$58,500 per year. Owner operators leasing with Schneider National will average $135,000-$145,000 annually. Schneider National also is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for experienced drivers and owner operators hired or leased on by September 1, 2004.

Schneider has operating centers in Coraopolis and Harrisburg PA with more than 1,000 drivers, owner operators, mechanics. and office associates currently based out of the facilities.
