Canadian trucking increases across US border

Exports and imports moved by Canadian trucks crossing the United States/Canada border in 2005 increased from the year before $2.1 billion ($1.9 billion US dollars) and $1.9 billion ($1.72 billion US dollars), respectively.

Canadian trucks in 2005 moved $188.8 billion ($171.21 billion US dollars) in exports and $164.5 billion ($149.13 billion US dollars) in US imports, according to information from the Canadian Trucking Alliance.

Among the commodity groups accounting for 80 percent of total exports and 88 percent of total imports in both 2004 and 2005 were plastics and chemical products.
