US industrial construction starts expected to top $60 billion in Q3

Industrial construction work has been booming in the United States this year, according to a research report from Industrial Info Resources. During the first two quarters of 2012, the firm has tracked just less than 2,900 capital or maintenance projects worth an estimated $119 billion that are under construction.

Looking ahead to the third quarter of the year, Industrial Info Resources is tracking another 1,700 capital or maintenance projects worth an estimated $60 billion that are scheduled to begin construction. This is in line with the quarterly spending average the United States has seen this year.
