Trimac Transportation Ltd announces the acquisition of Benson Tank Lines' assets and business for $4.0 million. Canadian hauler Benson Tank Lines transports liquid chemicals primarily out of the greater Vancouver BC area, Alberta, and Washington State in the United States. The purchase includes approximately 60 trailers and 35 power units and will be financed through existing lines of credit, according to Trimac officials.

"I would like to welcome Benson's professional driving and administration staff to Trimac," said Ed Malysa, president and chief operating fficer of Trimac Transportation Ltd. "Benson has been a well managed business for over 40 years. This acquisition is consistent with Trimac's strategic objective to expand market share within its core product lines. Benson's customer base, employees and assets complement our bulk chemical business in Western Canada."
