Diesel price down one cent

Although diesel prices were slightly lower last week, the average price across the nation is about 85 cents more per gallon than it was for this same time last year. The average price of diesel fell just over one cent last week to $3.259 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy.

The American Trucking Associations reports that the trucking industry spent about $111 billion on diesel fuel in 2007, up from $103.3 billion in 2006.

Last week, low sulfur diesel dropped a fraction of a cent (.002) to $3.171 per gallon while ultra low sulfur diesel was down 1.4 cents at $3.272 per gallon.
