Girard Equipment Inc was honored as Manufacturer of the Year when the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Industry Appreciation Awards Luncheon on September 22 at the IRSC Richardson Center. 

Tim Girard, president of Girard Equipment, said his company was honored at its selection as Manufacturer of the Year. "This part of Florida is home to so many innovative companies, and being selected for this award is truly an honor,” he said.

This year's award was based on multiple outstanding business attributes as determined by the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. Girard was chosen for a multitude of reasons, including impressive annual economic impacts in payroll and local purchases of over $300,000. Girard has more than doubled the number of employees since opening its Indian River-area facility and has recently expanded its Florida manufacturing facility by over 40,000 square feet to accommodate a growing product line. The new facility also provides larger assembly and shipping areas.

The annual awards honor companies that stimulate the Indian River economy, make contributions back to the community, provide quality year-round employment, and have an overall positive impact on the Indian River County as a whole.
