Diesel price climbs over 5 cents

The average price of diesel across the nation rose 5.5 cents last week to $3.094 per gallon, according to the Department of Energy.

That's 57 cents more per gallon than for the same time in 2006 when pumps were ringing up at $2.524 per gallon.

Low sulfur diesel and ultra low sulfur diesel last week rose 4.7 cents and 5.7 cents per gallon, respectively. Low sulfur diesel was at $3.023 per gallon while ultra low sulfur diesel was $3.11 per gallon.
