Price of diesel fuel drops
for four weeks in a row

The average price of diesel fuel declined 4.6 cents to $2.496 a gallon, its fourth straight decline, according to US Department of Energy information.

This drop left trucking’s main fuel $2.222 below the same week in 2008 and $0.046 per gallon from a week ago. Diesel reached its all-time record of $4.764 a gallon July 14, 2008.

Diesel’s price has now decreased by 12 cents. Before that, it gained 43.1 cents in seven weeks of increases through June 22.
