Whittington honored by US Senator

Charles "Shorty" Whittington, Integrity Biofuels president, has been presented a US flag that was flown over the nation's Capitol, honoring the company for its dedication and contribution to the nation's energy security through the promotion of renewable fuels.

Senator Richard Lugar (D-Indiana) presented the flag to Whittington while touring the facility in Morristown IN. "A large part of the answer to our future energy needs will be in the development and use of alternative renewable fuels," Whittington said during the proceedings. "Government and the private sector increasingly recognize the immediate need to focus on research, development and distribution of domestically produced alternative renewable fuels as the greatest near-term impact on substituting domestic liquid fuels for imported oil."

The biodiesel plant began production in 2006. Read more about the project in Bulk Transporter's December 2006 issue.
