Werts Welding and Tank Service celebrated its 50 years of service November 15 with a reception and open house at its Wood River IL location.

Werts provides repair services, parts, and tank trailer and straight truck sales to the petroleum, dry bulk, chemical, and vacuum industries.

The company was founded in 1957 by Robert and Verna Werts as a one bay repair shop in Wood River. The torch was passed to their son, Dwight Werts, in 1993 and since then he has added five locations that include facilities throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest. At two of the locations, Wood River and Birmingham AL, the company has, in addition to parts service, an “R” stamp shop.
