Vopak finds high silicon content in certain London terminal tanks

After hearing about reports from drivers who were experiencing fuel-related problems with their vehicles in the Southeast of England, Royal Vopak executed an initial review of its storage and handling operations in London and concluded that product it received from one of its customers contained a "relatively high level of silicon," according to Vopak information.

"This product has been located in four tanks, which are dedicated to one of our clients," Vopak said in its news release. "These tanks have been isolated."

The Vopak London storage facility stores various products and services clients involved in the supply of petrol to retail stations, including those in the Southeast area.

Vopak notified the owner of the product and its other clients accordingly and will continue to fully cooperate with any further investigation into the possible cause of this higher level of silicon in its clients' product, the company said
