Rand McNally Inc has updated its RouteTools Professional Driver Edition software.

The new edition of RouteTools includes more than 200,000 data updates for quickest routes to the North American Highway Network, up-to-date information on more than 5,000 truckstop locations and amenities, as well as updated truck attributes for 48- and 53-foot truck-trailer configurations. References to the 2004 Motor Carriers' Road Atlas also have been updated.

Rand McNally has eliminated the licensing fee with the updated RouteTools software. A driver can simply register the product and load it into a computer for continuous use.

The updated RouteTools Professional Driver Edition software is offered on CD-ROM at a retail price of $199 through TA Travel Centers of America and Love's Travel Stops, and directly from Rand McNally.
