Week in September honors Canadian trucking industry

Feb 1, 2006 12:00 PM

National Trucking Week will spotlight Canada's trucking industry Sept 17-23, 2006. The event is held annually to salute contributions made by the 400,000 Canadians who work in the industry. The week also serves as a platform for raising awareness of how to share the road safely with a truck and the career opportunities in the industry.

The dates are selected each year by the Canadian Trucking Alliance in cooperation with the nation's seven provincial trucking associations.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance encourages carriers, suppliers, and industry partners to undertake steps to mark the special week. Each year, members of the trucking industry and industry suppliers come up with various ways to recognize truck drivers and other employees.
