THE NETHERLANDS-based tank container lessor, Trifleet Leasing, has been reaping the benefits of its new leveraging power in the wake of its majority share purchase by ING Leasing, a subsidiary of financial ING Group, according to Trifleet management.
Since the April 2003 acquisition, Trifleet has launched several new financing services for clients, and nearly doubled its fleet size, with more units on order.
Under the terms of the changeover, Trifleet founder Kees Dolman took the position of managing Director of ING Lease, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and now sits on the board of directors at Trifleet. Marja Doedens, who had previously been with ING in Amsterdam, has become the new managing director of Trifleet Leasing, where she works closely with Carol Maddox, who continues as Trifleet's leasing director. Carsten Schoenfeld recently started as sales manager at Trifleet's office in Hamburg, Germany.
Trifleet Leasing has 360 IMO-1 tank containers on order with South African manufactures Consani and Trencor that will come into service next year, and an order for 331 specialty tanks due to come online at roughly the same time.
