Top 10 Tank Carriers Looked Quite Different from Today

Coastal Tank Lines Inc was the largest US tank truck carrier in 1948, according to the Interstate Commerce Commission. The tank truck operator apparently had held the top position for several years.
Petroleum Transporter, which became Modern Bulk Transporter, reported the top 10 rankings from the ICC reports but didn't list the revenues or operating ratios. The top 10 were as follows:

Ruan Transport Corp, Des Moines IA.
Asbury Transportation Co, Los Angeles CA.
Associated Petroleum Corp, Spartanburg SC.
